ADOPTION INFORMATION

MLRR does its best to match the right dog with the right family by finding out as much as possible about the potential adoptive family before placing a dog. Anyone interested in adopting a Lab must:

Read and agree to our
Adoption Policies.
Complete an adoption application. (Download form at bottom of this page)
Upon acceptance of the application, an MLRR volunteer will contact you to arrange a home visit.
You will then be notified if you are approved for adoption.
If you are an approved adopter, you will be contacted when a potential Labrador that is a "match" for you is available.

Adoption Donation

An adoption fee of $200 is requested for each adult Lab. The fee for puppies (6 months and younger) is $250. If the puppy is not neutered before adoption there will also be a $50 neuter deposit due at the time of adoption in addition to the $250 adoption fee. The $50 deposit will be returned to the adopter once MLRR receives proof of neuter.
There is a reduced fee of $125 for Labs six years and older.
The adoption fee helps offset the rescue expenses incurred by MLRR.

Spaying and Neutering

Rescued Labs from MLRR will be spayed or neutered. This not only prevents more unwanted puppies, but also reduces the dog's risk of certain health problems later in life, including some types of cancer.
